There are no modern conveniences on the cover as Rick Buckler stated. Got it? We were fooled. It's an All Mod Con. It's still a great album, but do you really think a 20 year old can write those kind of lyrics? Well he hasn't since. Take a look at the inner sleave and you'll find the clues. "And Son Mus. Ltd." Can it get anymore obvious?

A lot of what Paul wrote in the Jam is still prevalent now ❤

The Jam live, so perfectly imperfect! Wellers aggressive vocals and guitar sound, like a hybrid of Townshend and Wilko Johnson, combined with the incredible driving bass from Foxton underpinned by Rick Buckler's percussion. I didn't realise any of that musicality at the time, I just loved the excitement of seeing them create the best raw live music of their generation. A perfectly imperfect generation.

I like how its a style council song, but in a completely different Arrangement, using his sound from the early part of his solo career.

A bit late to the party but I saw The Jam for the first and last time on December 2nd 1982. I was a 15 year old school kid and it was a school night so I was very bleary the next morning!

The Jam were in my top 3 favourite bands and yet I never owned a parka.

apart from the obvious "tax man" influence you can hear a lot of "Start" coming through here,cool, could have easily made it onto Modern World or Sound affects even All Mod Cons

such a tune..such an ear worm..listen to it twice and you'll be humming it all day..the genius of Lennon..and Paul can spot a gem a mile off..shouldve been a b side..at least.
